ROH TV Review (25/11/15)

1. Moose (w/Stokely Hathaway) vs. Dominic Carter

As soon as bell sounded Moose speared Carter and won in quick fashion.

Hathaway was on the microphone and said that when Moose gets his title shot he will become ROH World Champion. Hathaway then paused and thought that someone last week said the same thing. Michael Elgin is the man he was talking about and he said that Michael Elgin thinks he will be ROH World Champion

This brought out Michael Elgin who obviously disagreed with Moose but before they could have a match to determine a number 1 contender Donovan Dijak and J Diesel came out leading to a tag match.

2. Michael Elgin and Moose (w/Stokely Hathaway) vs. Donovan Dijak and J Diesel (w/Truth Martini, Taeler Hendrix)

This was basically Elgin and Moose showing each other who had the best moves as it ended with Elgin using his buckle bomb on Diesel and Moose speared Dijak for the win.

I think with the growing popularity of Michael Elgin in Japan I can see Elgin becoming the number 1 contender for the ROH World title for the Japan show in 2016. Moose can wait unless NXT are interested in him.

On last weeks ROH TV Steve Corino confirmed that he will be undergoing surgery to his neck and doesn’t know if he will be back to wrestle. BJ Whitmer came out this week and says he doesn’t believe Corino is having surgery. He then started bad mouthing Nigel McGuinness. Nigel got up for the commentary table and told Whitmer that as Corino will not be at final battle neither will Whitmer and Adam Page.

3. ROH TV Championship Match: Champion Jay Lethal vs. Roderick Strong

This was a really good match but that is what Lethal and Strong do. Haven’t seen one bad match from these two men in ROH. Great back and forth action. The match ended with a brilliant combination of moves. First, as Lethal was running towards him, Strong hit lethal with a knee to the head and then a gut buster to another kick and then a suplex into Strongs knees to the back. He then put Lethal into the Strong hold submission for the win and a great reaction from the crowd. A really good match to end the 18 month reign of Jay Lethal. As Lethal was leaving the ring Truth Martini tried to console Lethal by saying that he was still World Champion. This did not work as Lethal was stomping all over the floor in anger. I loved this as it showed that he still wanted to be TV Champion as well as world champion.

It’s a shame Lethal lost the TV title as I wanted him to have an even longer reign as champion but it’s done now and Roderick Strong is the champ and I’m looking forward to his title defences in the future. Starting with Final Battle when Strong defends the ROH World Television Championship against Bobby Fish! WOW!
