ROH TV Review 12/7/14

Added by Justin DiVirgilio

This episode is just a closer look at New Japan Pro Wrestling. The episode features 3 matches featuring New Japan Pro Wrestling stars from Global Wars in May.

Jado & Shinsuke Nakamara vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jushin Thunder Liger

The match starts out with some crisp clean chain wrestling between Nakamuda and Tanahashi. Jado tags and then Tanahashi slaps him and Jado falls face first like Ric Flair used to. Liger tags in to an amazing ovation and Liger hits Jado and Nakamura with baseball slides. Jado is sitting on the top turnbuckle and Liger climbs up to execute a move but Jado hits Liger with a low blow while the referee’s back is turned. Liger tags in Tanahashi who cleans house. Tanahashi body slams Nakamura and hits him with a second rope con hilo. Jado tags in and puts Tanahashi in the cross face. Liger hits Nakamura with a cross body off the apron to the outside and Tanahashi hits Jado with the High Fly Flow for the win.

This was a good match and the crowd loved Liger and Nakamura. I just thought that some of the guys in the match were a little slow.

Kazuchika Okada & Gedo vs. AJ Styles & Karl Anderson

The match starts out Karl Anderson and Gedo. Anderson hits Gedo with a nice leg lariat. Okada tags in Gedo and Okada hits a flurry of offense on Anderson. Okada hits a top rope elbow on Anderson and signals for the Rainmaker. Anderson reverses it into a neckbreaker. Styles is tagged in and he hits a springboard forearm on Okada. Gedo tags in and hits Styles with a back drop, jawbreaker and a DDT. AJ hits Gedo with a pele kick and Anderson hits Gedo with an ace crusher. AJ hits a brain buster and then the Styles clash for the win.

The match was good but I feel that the match was kind of short and AJ wasn’t in the ring enough.

After the matches a video package is shown as a New Japan and ROH tryout camp took place.

IWGP Jr. Tag Title 3 Way Match: Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov) vs. The Young Bucks (c) (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. Time Splitters (KUSHIDA & Alex Shelley)

The match starts out with Matt and Shelley and Shelley takes the upper hand. Koslov tags in and Matt tags in Nick. Koslov hits Nick with a nice backbreaker and Nick tags in KUSHIDA and Romero tags in. KUSHIDA and Romero have a quick exchange running the ropes and KUSHIDA hits and a nice drop kick and then a standing hurracanrana. The Time Splitters begin to dominate the match with quick tag team moves. Shelley is taken out of the ring and is hit by Romero with a flying knee off of the apron. Koslov tags in and hits Shelley with the signature jump kicks with the red hat on. The Bucks tag themselves in by tagging out Romero and The Bucks hits quick high knees and a tandem sliced bread. KUSHIDA tags in and hits the headstand kicks to the Hooligans and then starts to dominate the Bucks. The Time Splitters hit a frog splash and standing moonsault combo on Matt for a 2 count. The Bucks then hit the super kicks on both Hooligans. The Time Splitters hit Matt with a inverted atomic drop, drop kick to the knee, into the last chancery, and then a cartwheel drop kick to the face. Shelley goes for the sliced bread but Matt reverses into a tombstone and the Bucks hit the tandem tombstone. Koslov for a springboard axe handle but the Bucks double superkick him and then hit him with the More Bang For Your Buck on Koslov for the win.

This match stole the show as all the teams showed off their biggest moves to wow the crowd in attendance.

The episode was good as I already saw these matches but it was nice to see them again.
