UK Wrestling Round-Up (8/6/15)

This past Friday, PCW, Preston City Wrestling, presented to a SOLD OUT crowd their June offering “Showdown”. We were finally able to see the long awaited rematch between Lionheart and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, AJ Styles, which Styles won via submission. Team Single (Rampage Brown & T-Bone) were able to retain their Tag Titles against The Hooligans (Roy & Zak Knight), Dave Rayne FINALLY lost his #BOOM Championship to current PCW GM Joanna Rose (with the help from fellow FWB members Team Single). It was announcement that Noam Dar would face former WWE & current TNA star Drew Galloway at their 4th Anniversary show, “The Forth Awakens” on August 7th. Kris Travis made an appearance at the show and stated that after everything that had gone on in his life he wasn’t sure whether he’d continue wrestling, Sha Samuels then came to the ring and berated Travis. Your PCW GM, Joanna Rose then stated that Travis vs Samuels will happen and take place at their Anniversary show too.

ICW – Insane Championship Wrestling have announced that at their “Wayne Stock” event, which will be held over July 26th – 27th, Aaron Echo will make his debut against Kid Fite. The ICW Champion, Drew Galloway will defend his title against Big Damo, Noam Dar will face off against TNA’s Bram, former champs Jack Jester and Kenny Williams will go one-on-one with each other and Dickie Divers will also defend his Square Go! Briefcase in a ladder match with Chris Renfrew. BREAKING NEWS!! Mike Foley is signed to appear at the November show, ‘Fear and Loathing 8’ he will take on the role of commissioner for the evening!

Grand Pro Wrestling have announced that at their “A Night To Remember” show which will be held on Jun 19th at The Rose Club, Hindley in Wigan; Bubblegum will defend his GPW Heavyweight Championship against Joey Hayes, El Ligero puts his GPW British Championship on the line against T-Bone, Craig Kollins will face Chris Ridgeway, Jack Gallagher will take on Tabu and the GPW Tag Champions, The Bad Lads, will have a special ‘Arm Wrestling Challenge’ with The Midnight Bin Collection.

IPW:UK presented to us this past weekend “Blood, Sweat & Beers”, this event featured Dave Mastiff defeating TNA’s Bram, The London Riots retaining their Tag Titles against 2 Unlimited and D&D Security (Ciaren Donnelly & Danny Duggan) coming out on top over the Hammerlock Wrestling Crew (Jimmy Havoc & Jon Ryan). IPW:UK will also be hosting “Summer Bonus” on August 9thfrom The Angel Centre in Tonbridge and will feature current Champion Bad Bones, former ROH & IWGP Tag Team Champions, reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly) and 2 qualifiers for the UK Super 8 & UK Future 8 Tournaments.

PROGRESS Wrestling have added more names to their show at this years Download Festival over the week of 10th-14th June. Wrestlers scheduled to appear will be; The GZRS, Mikey Whiplash, Noam Dar, Chuck Mambo, Mark Haskins, Damon Moser, the ‘Wild Boar’ Mike Hitchman, Tommy End, Marty Scurll, ‘Pastor’ William Eaver, T-Bone, Grado, Kyle Ashmore, Ali Armstrong, Rampage Brown, The London Riots (James Davis & Rob Lynch), Issac Zercher, Paul Robinson and your PROGRESS Champion, Jimmy Havoc.

They have also announced that at “ENDVR:11” on June 21st there will be a 4-Way Tag Match between The GZRS, The London Riots, The Hunter Brothers and The Regression to see who will face the PROGRESS Tag Champions, The Sumerian Death Squad (Tommy End & Michael Dante), at a date to be announced.

On June 21st, Kamikaze Pro present to us their 2nd Anniversary show from Stechford, Birmingham. Matches already announced for this event are; Damian Dunne vs the ‘Wonderkid’ Jonny Storm, Ryan Smile vs Mark Haskins, Clint Margera taking on Chris Brooks in a ‘No Disqualification Match’ and Shanna vs Toni Storm.
