UK Wrestling Round-Up (27/7/15)

Only one place to start and that is with PROGRESS Wrestling, this past Sunday at Chapter 20 ‘Beyond Thunderbastard’ Will Ospreay finally ended the epic reign of champion Jimmy Havoc, congratulations to Will. The Thunderbastard match was won by Mark Haskins, this guarantees him at a shot at the title in the future and that shot will be the NEXT show, Chapter 21 on September 6th, tickets for this show go on sale TONIGHT, check out THIS link for more details.

We’d like congratulate Chardonnay on winning the Empress Pro Tournament this past Saturday after firstly defeating Courtney to progress and then Addy Starr & Kay Lee Ray in a 3-Way Elimination Match to become champion.

Pro Wrestling 4U have announced it’s 2nd match this week for September 4th “Sweet As A Nut” which will be held at the Silverdale Working Men’s Club in Newcastle Under Lyme and where the fans will decide the stipulation. Matches signed so far; The Babyface Pitbull vs Danxig in either a 2 out of 3 Falls, Anthem or a No Count Out Match. Violet Vendetta will be in one-on-one action against Laura Jane with one of the following stipulations, Best of 3 Series, No Rope Break or an old school World Of Sports Rules Match. Which ever the fans pick for these matches I’m sure we’re in for a treat and the card as always will be full of talented UK wrestlers.

Kamikaze Pro have announced that for the main event of their next show ‘Brute Force’ on August 29th in Great Barr, Birmingham KP champion Robbie X will defend the title against Magnus of TNA and now GFW fame. Also on the card, Relentless champion Marshall X will defend against Pete Dunne and Mickie James will take on Shanna in a women’s match.

Just So Wrestling have added Women’s singles competition in the form of Toni Storm vs Lana Austin to their August 2nd show titled “May The Force Be With You” which will be held at the Windle Labour Club, Denton’s Green Lane in St. Helens. Other matches set for the night will be; Damian Dunne vs Marc Morgan and Bubblegum vs Danxig in the Just Do Championship Semi-Finals, Chris Ridgeway will face Jack Gallagher, Disco Bert will lock-up with Dan Evans and The Hunter Brothers (Jim & Lee Hunter) will be in tag team action against the YOLO Squad (Ethan Silver & Drew Parker).

4 Front Wrestling announced this week that at “Kingdom Rising”, held at the M.E.C.A. in Swindon on October 31st, current TNA World Heavyweight Champion, EC3 and Lucha Underground star, John Morrison will make their debut for the company. Also scheduled to appear will be former WWE/WCW star Juventud Guerrera and the legend that is Ultimo Dragon. Also, the last show featuring Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio will be available for pre-order this week  Here

IPW:UK have informed us this week that the delayed Title Unification Match between current IPW:UK World Heavyweight Champion Bad Bones and IPW:UK All-England Champion Jimmy Havoc will now take place at their “Summer Bonus” show on August 9th at The Angel Centre in Tonbridge. However, the stipulations to this match have now been changed to a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match for the gold. Elsewhere on the card, your Tag Team Champions D&D (Danny Duggan & Cieran Donnelly) will defend their titles against former ROH Tag Team Champions, reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly).

Chaos Wrestling have now added another match to an already stacked card for their August 1st show “Hell Is For Heroes”. The Hunter Brothers facing off against The Wild Galleons (Roger The Cabin Boy & Captain Dick Morgan). This event will be held at the BAWA Club in Filton, Bristol and will feature former NXT/ROH star, Chis Hero, British Bootcamp series 1 & 2 winners Rockstar Spud and Mark Andrews and some of the best talent from the UK.

This week New Generation Wrestling signed the London Riots to take on Liam Slater and a mystery partner that hasn’t been named yet in a non-title match at their next show “A New Dawn”  in Pudsey, at the Pudsey Civic Hall on the 2nd August. Other matches to take place will be; Joseph Conners vs Robbie X, a 3-Way Match between Bubblegum, ‘Flash’ Morgan Webster & Ashton Smith and Nathan Cruz will make his first NGW Undisputed Title defence against a member of The Control, Mark Haskins.

Also announced this week has been the first match for NGW’s September show, held on the 5th, “Northallerton Return” which comes to us from The Forum, Northallerton. This will be fan favourite Martin Kirby taking on former NGW Undisputed Champion and one member of The Control, Rampage Brown.

Preston City Wrestling have now added 2 more matches to their already amazing card for the 4th Anniversary show “The Fourth Awakens” at the Evoque in Preston on August 7th. These are the former #BOOM Champion and very funny Dave Rayne going up against the very talented Iestyn Rees in singles competition and the inclusion of a 6-Way Match between Dean Allmark, Ashton Smith, El Ligero, Charlie Garrett and 2 opponents that haven’t been named yet. This will be very interesting to see who will join in on the match and if we’ll have to wait until the night to find out who they are.
