UK Wrestling Round-Up (2/6/16)

After the success of their HUGE show just a few weeks ago, Britain Empire Wrestling have kept the momentum going by signed the first two matches for the upcoming “Coronation Of The Empire 2” show which will take place at the Tooting Tram & Social, Mitcham on Sunday, July 10th and will see Jetta vs Penelope and a Triple Threat Match featuring Dahlia Black, Laura Di Mattteo & the debuting Rosie Leigh, the winner of this match getting a guaranteed BEW Women’s Championship Match whenever they want.

What another fantastic weekend of wrestling we were treated to when Chikara Pro returned with the 2nd leg of their UK Tour. I’m not going to spoil it so if you want to know what happened then please checkout the results section for everything that happened and I just want to say thank you to Chikara for letting the UK fans see what an awesome company they are and hope that they return very soon.

Congratulations go to Tommy End who won the SPLX Super Strong Style Tournament at PROGRESS Wrestling’s “Chapter 30” show over the bank holiday weekend and also to The London Riots (James Davis & Rob Lynch) who became the new PROGRESS Tag Team Champions. D-Generation Mex (Jonathan Windsor & The Mexican Eagle) will return at IPW:UK‘s “#200” event which takes place from The Angel Centre, Tonbridge this Sunday, June 5th when they’ll take on the team of Rampage Brown & T-Bone in tag team action. Not only that, the man himself, Nigel McGuinness will act as Special Referee for the match too. Other matches that have been signed for the night will see; Nathan Cruz vs RJ Singh, Jonny Storm vs Tom Dawkins vs Zack Gibson in a Triple Threat, Johnny Kidd & Doug Williams vs James Mason & Chris Hero in a British Rounds Tag Team Match and all previous scrum winners (James Davis, Rob Lynch, Danny Duggan, Cieran Donnelly, Sammy Smooth, Snare, Darrell Allen & Scott Star) will meet in a Scrum Winners Scrum Match.

Grand Pro Wrestling will present “A Night To Remember” from The Rose Club, Hindley, Wigan on Friday, June 10th and what a show they have for the fans as we’ll see; Jack Gallagher vs Cyanide, Craig Kollins vs Joey Hayes, a 4-Way Tag Team #1 Contenders Match featuring The Circus (Noah & Henry T. Grood), The Bad Lads (Drill & Mickey Barnes), The Island Brothers (Tabu & Rio) and the team of Martin Kirby & The Shiek, Ricky J McKenzie & DDL vs Ashton Smith & Matthew Brookes, GPW British Champion, Bubblegum vs Jet Fashion, GPW Heavyweight Champion, T-Bone vs Ste Bin Man, The Hate League have been banned from the show and finally Dirk Feelgood will have an announcement regarding the GPW Hall Of Fame.

Sunday, August 14th maybe a couple of months away but make sure to note it down in your diary as XWA Wrestling will present “The Summer Supershow” from Charter Hall, Colchester and have already signed Thomas Dawkins vs Andrew Everrett to one-on-one competition plus Kay Lee Ray, Grado and current TNA Knockouts Champion, Jade are all scheduled to be in action.

Alpha Omega Wrestling have added two more matches to their “Vendetta” show which will take place from the Morecambe Winter Gardens, Morecambe on Saturday, July 16th as we’ll see Barricade vs Ricky J McKenzie and Un-Sexy Kev vs James Drake, both in singles competition. Matches already set will see Johnny Phere vs Chris Ridgeway and The Referendum (Bobby Roberts & Lewis Girvan) defending their AOW Tag Team Titles against The Models (Joey Hayes & Danny Hope).

Revolution Pro Wrestling have announced that the team of Charlie Garrett & Joel Redman will take on The Hunter Brothers (Jim & Lee Hunter) at this Sunday’s “Live At The Cockpit 9” show, held at The Cockpit, Marylebone, London. This is the latest match to be added to an already outstanding line-up which will feature the following; RPW British Cruiserweight Champion, Pete Dunne vs Matt Cross, RPW Tag Team Champion, Sha Samuels vs Noam Dar, Marty Scurll vs Big Damo, Mark Haskins vs Trent Seven, Josh Bodom vs Mike Bailey and Addy Starr vs Jinny in the EVE Showcase.

This Saturday, June 4th, Leicester Championship Wrestling will host their “Aftermath” event from the Brockington College, Leicester and have signed the following matches; Toni Storm vs Alexis Rose, Joseph Conners vs Xander Cooper, Ladz Ladz Ladz (Gabriel Kidd & Zak Northern) vs The Alpha Brothers (Johnny & Ricky Alpha), HC Dyer & Alex Gracie vs Chris Tyler & Tyler Bate, #1 Contenders Match, White Tiger vs LJ Heron and TK Hayward defends his LCW Young Guns Championship against Paul Malen.

What a show New Generation Wrestling put on for their fans when they returned to Hull City Hall, Hull with “Ultimate Showdown” this past Saturday, here is what happened; El Ligero def. Ace Matthews, Liam Slater & Sam Bailey def. The Proven (Caz Crash & Sam Wilder) in an Open Challenge Match, Mark Haskins def. Sam Callihan, Matt Myers def. ‘Wild Boar’ Mike Hitchman in their #1 Contenders Match, Dara Diablo def. Liam Slater, Bubblegum retained his NGW Gen-X League Championship over El Ligero, Rampage Brown def. Nathan Cruz & Zack Gibson in their Triple Threat Match via count out but Cruz is still the NGW Undisputed Champion as the title can only change by pin or submission and Stixx & Colossus lost their NGW Tag Team Titles in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match with Lionheart, Kid Fite & Joe Hendry.

Pro-Wrestling:EVE were in action last weekend when they showcased “Episode 2: After The Storm” from the Cre8 Events Centre, Hackney, London as we were treated to a Queen Of The Ring Tournament to determine the next #1 Contender for the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship. Here are the results; Pollyanna def. Sammii Jayne, Kay Lee Ray def. Erin Angel, Toni Storm def. Zoe Lucas, Blue Nikita def. Ayesha Ray to advance into a Fatal 4-Way Finals Match which Blue Nikita won and Rhia O’Reilly defeated Jetta to stay Champion.

Britannia Wrestling Promotions are proud to announce that at Denbigh Town Hall, Denbigh on Saturday, June 25th we will see two tournaments on the same night, featuring male and female wrestlers to determine the first ever Young Dragons Tournament winners, here are your participants for the event; Drew Parker, Soner Dursun, Troy McCarthy & Ethan Silver for the male side and Lana Austin, Lizzy Styles, Violet Vendetta & April Davids for the female side.

TIDAL Wrestling hosted “Point Break 2016” from The Dolphin Centre, Darlington last Friday which featured some of the best working the UK scene at the moment and here are the results from the night; Little Miss Roxxy def. Lucy Cole, HT Drake def. Aaron Echo, ‘Primate’ Jason Prime def. Taylor Ballando, Liam Lazarus def. Lou King Sharp to stay TCW Open Challenge Champion and the team of The Burial (BA Rose & David Graves) & TCW Champion, El Ligero def. The Service (Sean Only & Dan James) & Kid Fite.

HOPE Wrestling presented their “Evolution 37: No Surrender My Bobby Jean” show from Queens Park Sports Centre, Chesterfield this past Sunday where we saw the following; Blake def. Danny Thomas, Joseph Conners def. Kieran Bruce, Jake McCluskey def. Chris Tyler, Filthy Gorgeous (Robert Sharpe & Kyle Kingsley) def. CJ Banks in a Handicap Match when Paul Malen didn’t show up, Burchill def. Lucas Archer and Martin Kirby successfully retained his HOPE Championship when he beat LJ Heron.

Their next show will come to us from from The Polish Club, Derby on Friday, June 10th where the following matches have already been signed for the night; CJ Banks vs Chris Tyler, El Ligero vs Blake, Will Ospreay vs Ashley Dunn vs Jake McCluskey in a Triple Threat Match and Nathan Cruz will return after nearly 2 years to take on LJ Heron in singles competition.

The following night, Saturday, June 11th we’ll see Hustle Malone issuing an Open Challenge and a Fatal 4-Way Match featuring Ashley Dunn, Chris Tyler, Ryan Smile and Pete Dunne as HOPE travels to the Forest Town Arena as they’ll present their “Evolution 38: I’ll Be Their Just To See You Fall” event for all the fans to enjoy.

One week later on Saturday, June 18th, HOPE will head to Milton Keynes when they return to The Jury’s Inn and have signed three fantastic matches for the show; Ashley Dunn vs Chris Tyler, Gene Munny has issued a Totes Swanky Open Challenge and Cy Gregory will take on the undefeated Joey Ozbourne.

The first match to be signed for HOPE Wrestling’s “Live In Dunstable” show which will be held at the Dunstable Leisure Centre on Saturday, June 25th will see Gene Munny in singles competition with Chris Tyler.
