WCPW

The build to WCPW’s One Year extravaganza, Built To Destroy, is well underway as the card starts to take shape, here is the currently announced card:

–      WCPW World Championship: Joe Hendry (c) vs Rampage

Also in WCPW news this week, more competitors have been announced for the US Qualifier of the Pro Wrestling World Cup, Cody Rhodes, James Storm, David Starr and Jay Lethal will join the previously announced Bobby Fish and Ricochet on July 21st.

A non-tournament match has been announced for the Japanese Qualifier of the Pro Wrestling World Cup, pitting heavyweight powerhouses against each other as New Japan’s ‘Stone Pitbull’ Tomohiro Ishii faces number one contender to the WCPW Championship, Rampage Brown.

ICW

ICW’s annual Shug’s Hoose Party show is right around the corner and this past week it got its main event. Joe Coffey will defend his ICW World Heavyweight Championship against Jack Jester. Also announced for Shug’s Hoose Party this week was a ‘Kiss My Arse’ match pitting DCT & Coach Trip against Davey Blaze and The Wee Man.

Furthermore, for Shug’s Hoose Party, senior referee Thomas Keirns will step into the ring as a competitor against Dickie Divers, this follows Divers attacking the referee backstage at the last Fight Club tapings.

Also, upcoming for ICW is their Tramspotting 2 Show, in Edinburgh. This week it was announced that both ‘The Bad Boy’ Liam Thomson and ‘The Local Hero’ Joe Hendry have been signed to appear.

In other news, former ICW World Heavyweight Champion Trent Seven will appear at the upcoming Fight Club tapings on June 18th.

NGW

NGW held their 9th Anniversary Show this past week at the prestigious Hull City Hall, an even which your authors were attending, featuring two title matches and an appearance by BOSJ finalist Will Ospreay. The results were as follows:

–      Kip Sabian defeated El Ligero

–      Liam Slater defeated Screwface

–      NGW Tag Team Championships: The Proven (Sam Wilder & Caz Crash) defeated Insane Fight Club (Joe Hendry & Lionheart) (c) (New Champions)

–      Davey Boy Smith Cup Round Robin: Zack Gibson defeated Jake McCluskey

–      Davey Boy Smith Cup Round Robin: Justin ‘Hammer’ Sysum defeated Bubblegum

–      NGW Undisputed Championship Fatal-4-Way: Nathan Cruz defeated Rampage Brown, Joseph Conners and Matt Myers (c) (Cruz turned on Myers to win the match and has aligned himself with Rampage Brown & Richie West)

– NGW have also announced their next Hull City Hall show, on September 23rd, which will feature the Hull City Hall debut of Adam ‘Flex’ Maxted

PROGRESS

PROGRESS have made a few announcements this week concerning both their upcoming Freedoms Road Taping, and their Chapter 50 show. Jack Sexsmith, Chuck Mambo, Damon Moser, Isla Dawn and Donovan Dijak have been announced for the Freedoms Road taping.

Also, for Chapter 50, Toni Storm will defend her newly minted PROGRESS Women’s Championship against Kay Lee Ray, and the currently winless-in-2017 London Riots (James Davis & Rob Lynch) will take on Banter Edition (Dave Mastiff & El Ligero).

Two matches have also been set for PROGRESS’ debut in Cologne, Germany, these are:

–      Atlas Championship Number One Contenders Match: WALTER vs Mike Bird

–      Atlas Championship: Matt Riddle (c) vs Jurn Simmons

Lucha Forever

The UK’s newest promotion are certainly keeping their schedule busy, with upcoming shows scheduled in Manchester, Cardiff and Liverpool on the 13th, 18th and 23rd June respectively. Last week we told you of matches scheduled for both the Manchester and Cardiff shows, along with one for a show in Southampton next month, we now have several announced matches for their Liverpool show, We Ain’t Keeping a Dixie. And they are:

–      Mark Andrews vs Kip Sabian

–      Morgan Webster & Bea Priestley vs Chief Deputy Dunne & Lana Austin

Along with their Liverpool show some more announcements were made regarding their show in Manchester on 13th June. First and foremost a venue change has been announced and the show will now take place at Britannia Sachas Hotel. Unfortunately, Ton Storm will not make the show as planned, due to injury. Two more matches have also been announced, these are:

–      Bubblegum vs Chris Ridgeway

–      El Ligero vs Drew Parker

Also, it was announced that for their show in Cardiff, the Swords of Essex (Will Ospreay & Paul Robinson) will challenge for the CZW World Tag Team Championships against reigning champions CCK (Chris Brookes & Kid Lykos).

A Big show in London was also announced this past week, Ultimo Battle will take place on the 5th October at The Coronet Theatre, this past week they have announced the first few names for the show, firstly WWE UK star Tyler Bate will be appearing, and former New Japan star and current Pro Wrestling NOAH star Naomichi Marufuji will join the show in an exclusive date for the company.

PCW

PCW have announced a few matches for their annual free Tribute to the Troops show in Preston, which this year will see three different shows over two days. The first of which, on Show One, sees both of Joey Hayes’ tag partners clashing as Danny Hope takes on Martin Kirby, also on Show One, PCW Academy graduate Phillip Michael take on a big challenge in Tyson T-Bone. A big match was also set for Show Three, which will see Bubblegum take on Tyson T-Bone in PCW’s first ever steel cage match.

 

Matches have also been announced for their collaboration show with IPW:UK, The Decider, on June 18th in Tonbridge, Kent. Firstly, The UK Hooligans (Zak & Roy Knight) will take on The London Riots (James Davis & Rob Lynch) also Angelico will take on Jimmy Havoc in a clash of styles that is sure to excite the fans. To add to this, Impact Grand Champion Moose will face Sammy Smooth and Sid Scala will face Tel Banham.

North Wrestling

North Wrestling have announced that at their ‘Head Over Heels’ show, on Saturday 1st July, Nathan Cruz will go one-on-one with Primate.

WAW

WAW this week made a few announcements regarding their upcoming ‘September To Remember’ TV Tapings on September 16th. First off in three-way action, we see two debuting wrestlers for WAW, Liam Smedley, who was scouted by Ricky Knight himself and former WWE & TNA Star Daivari will take on WAW Legend King Kendo.

The Taping will also host a tournament to crown the first ever WAW TV Champion, the 8 men participating in the tournament were announced this past week, and their first-round matches, the first round is as follows:

–      Ruffneck vs Sonny Smasher

–      Brad Slayer vs Aaron ‘The Lion’ Sharp

–      Brad O’Brien vs Robin Lekime

–      ‘Rowdy’ Ricky Knight vs Ricky Knight Jr

Former WWE World Champion Jack Swagger is also scheduled to appear at these shows.

Rev-Pro

Rev-Pro have announced a big rematch for their next Live at the Cockpit show in London on July 2nd, it will see Dave Mastiff face off against Donovan Dijak.

Phoenix Events Yorkshire

Some sad news now, it was announced in a statement on the Facebook page of Phoenix events that all future events have been cancelled, presumably closing the doors of the company, for the time being. The statement is as follows:

It is with a heavy heart that with immediate effect, all future Phoenix shows will be cancelled.

It is a decision I haven’t and can’t take lightly, but it is something I just cannot do anymore at this point in time.

It’s been a great experience and I thank every single one of you that bought a ticket, supported us and genuinely just been amazing.

I wholeheartedly want to pick this up in the future, but for now, that’s all folks.

All purchased tickets will be refunded.

Thank You, and I’m sorry to let people down.

IPW:UK

London-based company IPW:UK have announced that they have booked Paul London for their August weekend swerved shows on August 19th & 20th. He joins already announced stars: Jimmy Havoc, Scott Star and Shane Strickland.

Fight! Nation/ONE Wrestling

Fight! Nation this week announced the formation of a new company, ONE Wrestling, whose mission statement is: ‘To deliver Dream shows in an exclusive environment for the 16+ audience.’ Their first show will be held on 4th October at Unit 4, Milton Keynes, and British Strong Style (Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven), CCK (Chris Brookes, Travis Banks and Kid Lykos) as well as Marty Scurll have all been announced.

Pro Wrestling Elite

After announcing that Alberto El Patron now won’t be appearing at their anniversary weekend in July, Pro Wrestling Elite have moved quickly and replaced him with WWE UK Champion, Pete Dunne. On Night One, Pete will face Mark Coffey.

Scottish Wrestling Alliance

SWA announced over the weekend that Grado will be appearing at their Battlezone show in Clydebank on the 7th October. At the show, an over-the-top-rope battle royal will be held to determine the number one contender to the promotion’s Heavyweight title.

British Championship Wrestling

This week it was announced that Jack Swagger will be coming to Kilmarnock Grand Hall on August 25th for BCW.

British Wrestling Worldwide

We kick off with some big news out of America this past weekend as UK mainstay Jimmy Havoc accomplished one of his career goals by winning the annual CZW Tournament of Death, all our congratulations go to Jimmy for his (slightly gory) accomplishment.

The first ROH talents taking part in the War of the Worlds UK tour were announced this past week, as the stars of ROH, New Japan and CMLL get set to descend on the UK. The newly announced names are: ROH World Heavyweight Champion Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, ROH World Tag Team Champs The Young Bucks, The Briscoes and Jay Lethal. They join they already announced CMLL names of: Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Ultimo Guerrero and Mistico.

Zack Sabre Jr is signed to appear at AAW’s event this coming Saturday, he is scheduled to face Mat Fitchett.

Mark Haskins took part in the latest Smash Wresting show tis Sunday in Phoenix, where he won the Smash Gold tournament, once again, our congratulations go to Mark.
