ROH/PWG Update (19/11/14)

Added by Jack Cinnamond

A few hours ago I was on my Twitter when I got a message from a friend asking if I knew anything about this Ring Of Honor thing that’s going around on Twitter. So I looked through Twitter and found everyone talking about a article that PWPonderings released earlier today, and in that article they talk heavily about the ROH/PWG situation which I reported a few days ago here. Well now I can update you a little,

The news came from Dreamwave Wrestling in Illinois, they claim that they were told to remove talent from their shows (noted their show on 6/12) and only one other company (a relatively unknown one if that) called CORE have said that ROH World Tag Team Champions, ReDRagon have been pulled from their 27/11 show and further shows.

I’ve been informed that Michael Elgin has been removed from Dreamwave’s show on 6/12 to stop any trouble with getting Elgin from Illinois to New York for Final Battle the next day. I’ve been told that isn’t true that they are pulled from all shows, their signed talent (Jay Lethal, Adam Cole, ReDRagon, and more) will not be pulled from larger shows and companies. This comes around the same time that TNA have signed their new deal with Destination America and as many have said, will be getting less viewers than ROH TV.

I asked ROH and PWG Wrestler ACH whether he would like to comment on the situation from his stand point, he only seemed confused by the question which gives reason to believe that the story is mostly hyped and isn’t true to the extent that Pro Wrestling Guerrilla or other companies like CHIKARA won’t be effected. I’ve asked Michael Elgin (the man that the story somewhat evolves around) whether he’d like to comment, he hasn’t commented as of this writing and as of 19:17 on 19/11/14, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has not announced the removal of any ROH talent from Black Cole Sun or even commented on the situation.

So that’s the story folks, ROH is removing their talent from certain independents but it isn’t to the extent that many are saying.
