ROH Final Battle 2014 Preview And Predictions

Added by Justin DiVirgilio

This the preview and predictions of Final Battle 2014 which is the most important event of the year and one of the most important events in ROH history.

4 Corner Survival Match: Hanson vs Caprice Coleman vs Jimmy Jacobs vs Mark Briscoe

Expect this match to show you two long time guys in ROH in Jacobs and Briscoe and two newer guys in Hanson and Coleman. The match should be a decent opener but I believe that Hanson is the guy to look out for as Hanson has been on a role as he went toe to toe with The Phenomenal AJ Styles and made it to the finals of the Survival of the Fittest tournament. I predict Hanson to pick up the win for just that reason as he’s been putting on very good matches and the fans have been liking him more since his spike in performance against top wrestlers in ROH.

Grudge Match: Adam Page w/ Jimmy Jacobs and BJ Whitmer vs Roderick Strong

This match is the youngboy, Page, against the veteran in Roddy. The Decade formed at last year’s Final Battle to get back to the top together. Page began to come into his own and tried to help Strong out but Strong refused. Strong was then kicked out of The Decade. Strong said that he was in The Decade to get to back to the top on his own and that Page needs to be shown what heart is. I expect this match to be a slower typed pace of match that will show Roddy’s abilities and hopefully elevates Page in the minds of fans that he’s serious. I predict Page to win as Whitmer and Jacobs will get involved to help him win.

Michael Elgin vs Tommaso Ciampa

This match pits two guys who are pissed off at ROH for different reasons and they will definitely show it by beating the shit out of each other. In their previous matches they’ve done this but I feel this one will be raised to a higher level as they both very angry. I predicted that Tommaso Ciampa to win to continue his rise to the top in ROH.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and ACH vs The Addition (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) and Cedric Alexander

This match can quite possibly steal the show as it will be full of high octane offense. I predict that the Bucks and ACH will win.

The Revenge of The New Streak: Moose w/ Stokley Hathaway and Prince Nana vs RD Evans w/ Veda Scott

Moose was added to Evans’ group after ROH’s initial live PPV debut, Best In The World, and Evans has used Moose to continue The New Streak. Moose and Stokley Hathaway, who is formerly known as Ramon, began to grow sick of Evans using them for his own personal gain. Moose and Hathaway sickness grew to its highest point that Moose cost Evans The New Streak and ROH TV Title in San Antonio on November 15th at Glory By Honor XIII by spearing him. Evans has declared that he wants his revenge for taking his coveted streak away. I expect Evans to win and hopefully this can put Evans into a more serious character and put him into TV title contention down the road.

ROH TV Title Match: #Reborn Matt Sydal vs Jay Lethal (c) w/ Truth Martini and J Diesel

This match came about as when Sydal returned to ROH as Martini offered him to join the House of Truth. Sydal declined to join and Lethal and Maritni took offense to this. Lethal and Martini want Sydal to pay for him declining to join.

I predict for Lethal to retain as he’s be on doing some of the best stuff on ROH.

ROH Tag Title Match: The Time Splitters (Alex Shelley and KUSHIDA) vs reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’ Reilly)

This match will be the third meeting between the teams as the series is split at 1-1. reDRagon won the IWGP Jr. Hvt. Tag Titles in the second meeting from the Time Splitters. The match should be very good match and I predict reDRagon to
retain.

Fight Without Honor: ROH World Title Match: Adam Cole vs Jay Briscoe (c)

This has been 18 months of hatred between these two men from Cole to winning the title and kicking Jay in the back of the head, to Ladder War V at Supercard of Honor VIII, to Jay winning the title at ASE VI in September, and to Cole winning SOTF in November. It seems like the stars have aligned to put these two men in the ring to try to kill each other over their hatred and most importantly the ROH World Title.

I predict Jay Briscoe to retain the title.

This seems to be better than ROH s first live PPV and it will certainly have a better crowd as its taking place in NYC. Check it out on rohwrestling.com for order to watch live at 8 pm Eastern time.
