This event takes place live on iPPV on September 6th on rohwrestling.com. Everyone knows ROH’s history about trouble of showing live iPPVs on there site but even though uStream doesn’t show iPPVs anymore they will be providing the stream for this iPPV and most likely all iPPVs for ROH going forward.
Four Corner Survival Match: RD Evans and Moose vs. Monster Mafia (Ethan Gabriel Owens and Josh Alexander) vs. The Decade’s BJ Whitmer and Adam Page vs. Caprice Coleman and Takaaki Watanabe
This match has been out together to show all of the tag team talent ROH has in the company but I do expect for some type of tension between Whitmer, Page, Coleman, and Watanabe. The team I expect to shine the most out of all of these teams is Monster Mafia as they are both Canandian and the event is being held in Canada but I feel they are the best team.
Mark Briscoe vs. Hanson
This match is going to be a real hard hitting type of match because Mark Briscoe is one of the toughest guys in ROH and Hanson is so strong and agile. The match is also going to be a very competitive one but I expect Hanson to show his ability as he is without his tag partner Raymond Rowe as he is recovering from a motorcycle accident.
Cedric Alexander vs. Michael Bennett w/ Maria Kanellis
This match is was billed as a “Battle of Breakout Stars” match but Slias Young got injured and Michael Bennett is now his replacement. This is most likely each man’s first singles match with one another. Cedric has broken out this year with his great matches against Roderick Strong, Jay Lethal, and Michael Elgin. Bennett has gotten hate from ROH fans for some reason has embraced it as he and Adam Cole are now in The Kingdom.
Grudge Tag Team Match: The Decade’s Roderick Strong and Jimmy Jacobs vs. Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian
This match is being built off of The Decade costing the Kaz and Daniels a possible tag title win and The Decade being very upset about Kaz and Daniels coming back to ROH and immediately getting a title shot. The match should be a good one as 3 out 4 are longtime ROH guys.
“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs. Adam Cole
I’m pretty sure that this is the first ever singles match against each other. This match is one of the 3 possible show stealers of the this event. Cole has been taken out of the main event scene since Best In The World although he was in the main event at Field Of Honor in a 4 way but he still hasn’t got his rematch. Styles has been on an absolute tear this year in his return to ROH and his work in NJPW. This is the first of hopefully many matches between the two.
No Time Limit TV Title Match:Jay Lethal (c) w/ Truth Martini and Seleziya vs. ACH
This is another potential show stealing match. ACH has been on the rise in ROH ever since Best In The World which is where he gained his number one contendership to the TV title. ACH used that clause on ROH TV last week as he and Lethal had outstanding match but the match ended in a draw. I was there for that match and the entire crowd was pulling for ACH to win. Lethal has been holding the TV title ever since Supercard of Honor in April and it seems like Jay Lethal will be moving closer to the World Title. I’m hoping for ACH to get the victory and title to legitimize him as a star in ROH.
2 out of 3 falls match for the ROH Tag Team Titles: reDRagon (c) (Kyle O Reilly and Bobby Fish) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)
This is the first meeting between both teams since reDRagon won the titles back from The Young Bucks at War of the Worlds. This is the final match that I believe can possibly be a show stealer. These teams have had amazing matches together and have split the the two matches they’ve had so the 2 out of 3 falls stipulation proves who’s the best tag team in ROH and the world.
ROH World Title Match: Michael Elgin (c) vs. Jay Briscoe
This is Jay Briscoe’s first regular title match since losing the title as his rematch against Cole was in a Ladder War at Supercard of Honor in April. Other than that one loss Briscoe has not been pinned in an ROH ring in 2 years and has been really built up as this really bad ass character. This Elgin’s biggest defense yet and this should really bolster Elgin’s run as he is most likely going to defeat a man who hasn’t been pinned in 2 years.
