PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 27 Preview

Added by Joe Atherton

This Sunday sees PROGRESS 4th anniversary show, Chapter 27: The Lost Art Of Suffering, at a sold out Electric Ballroom in Camden, and boy is this card STACKED!

The main event sees 9 of the best of the British independent scene battle it out as Progress Wrestling Champion Marty Scurll defends his title in a Thunderbastard match.

For those of you not familiar with PROGRESS a thunderbastard match works a little like a Royal Rumble: 2 men start, every few minutes another competitor enters, the difference being elimination comes via pin fall or submission.

The other 8 men gunning for Scurll’s title are:

The Arial Assassin, Will Ospreay, the man Scurll defeated for the title at Chapter 25: Chat Shit Get Banged

Mark Haskins, who Scurll defeated at Chapter 26: Unknown Pleasures

Rampage Brown, a former PROGRESS champion and one of the most dominant men on the British scene today

Mark Andrews, another former PROGRESS champion & winner of TNA British Bootcamp series 2

Zack Gibson, Liverpool’s number 1 and member of PROGRESS main villainous stable, The Origin, will look to add Progress Title to his groups Tag Team Titles

Paul Robinson, despised by the Progress Ultras for stabbing former tag team partner Will Ospreay in the back, a former number 1 contender who is as ruthless as they come

Flash Morgan Webster, another former number 1 contender, former Natural Progression Series winner and one of the most exciting prospects on the British scene today

Eddie Dennis, the Pride of Wales, completes the picture. Universally loved by the fans, tag team partner of Mark Andrews in FSU, the big man certainly will be the wild card of the bunch.

As if this ridiculously good main event wasn’t enough to wet your appetite there’s a few more matches that promise to be must see.

Tag team champions The Origin (Nathan Cruz & El Ligero) take on the dream team of the best technical wrestler in the world Zack Sabre Jr and the ‘Psycho Killer’ Tomasso Ciampa, in which will be The Origins toughest defence to date.

Speaking of tag team matches, The London Riots take on the SDS in the culmination of a 6 month feud, in a TLC match, with the added stipulation – the losers can never tag in PROGRESS again. Both teams are very popular & the Riots have been with PROGRESS since year one, so this will be one for the ages.

A Natural Progression Series Semi Final (winner of the tournament gets a title shot at the time their choosing) will take place between the ever popular Pastor William Eaver and ‘Number 1’ Damien Dunne. Two good, young, hungry guys fighting with a lot at stake, should be a good match.

If you’re into old school grappling then this match is a must for you: The Extraordinary Jack Gallagher will be taking on British wrestling legend Johnny Kidd! Will Gallagher be able to follow up his win at Chapter 26 against EVOLVE Champion Timothy Thatcher against a bonafide living legend?

Completing the card, making his PROGRESS debut (very popular on PROGRESS ENDVR cards, which feature graduates from their Projo School), “Bodyman” Roy Johnson will be bringing his Wasteman Challenge to the Electric Ballroom, so who knows who will show up?

Chapter 27: The Lost Art of Suffering is sure to be a hell of a show. The event sold out in 20 minutes but if you don’t have a ticket and want to check it out head over to demand-progress to subscribe to their on demand service
