Nick Gage’s Fucking Weekend

Added by Leon Noel

In the glory days of wrestling, wrestlers were able to work the circuit popping up in different city almost every night and having the exact same match with the exact same opponent doing the exact same moves because no one but the live crowd was watching. I don’t know much about the WWE house shows but I imagine they run fairly similar to this way where every wrestler does the exact same thing every single night.

Things have changed though with the variety of different streaming services a wrestler will leave for a weekend trip and it is easy to follow their entire weekend. This then, hopefully, causes wrestlers to think outside of the box and perform a new and interesting match every single time they are competing. The internet is always watching so there is never a good time to phone it in. Nick Gage knows this and over the weekend of September 13th he had to vastly different matches in two different companies and both of them were unique and brilliant.

Nick Gage knows exactly what his fans want and how to deliver. Whether he Nick Gage is one of the most charismatic, popular and interesting. Every single venue Nick gage walks into he has the fans losing his mind for him. Businessmen with 410ks chanting “Murder Death Kill!” as loud as they possibly can. Grabbing at Gage, jumping up and down with him, shadow boxing him. Nick Gage could be the most liked wrestler in all of the independents.

That doesn’t come without work though. Every single match Nick Gage has is something special. He does violent and spectacular things not just to his opponent’s but his own body as well. Over the weekend Gage wrestled two matches on Friday, September 13th, 2019 Gage wrestled War Horse in Anarchy Pro.

Before the match even starts the commentary team talks about how the building might fall down. War Horse starts the match by setting the pace when he screams “Who is ready to fucking die?” (I certainly am).

War Horse seems pretty popular and most of the fans chant for him like they are behind him. The Nick Gage chant before he even comes out. A fan waves a chair in the air around like he just don’t care. When he does he comes out of like a mad man the fans losing their minds. As Nick Gage runs out into the crowd an almost mosh pit like atmosphere takes over.

Nick Gage starts the match before the ring announcer can give the weights and hometowns. He runs out of the corner and attacks War Horse who is posing and never sees it coming. Gage then hits War Horse with a spinebuster and gives gang signs while he gets his announcement and War Horse gets his wits about him.

Nick Gage then tosses War Horse out of the ring and into some seats set up on the side of the ring. He then tosses War Horse across the venue into some more chairs. Gage throws a trashcan. A chair covered in thumbtacks appears seemingly out of nowhere. No one would want to sit on that. War Horse manages to drop toe hold, Nick Gage, right into the chair. War Horse jumps off the merch table with a chair in hand  onto Nick Gage.

Gage is bleeding.

The fans make a pile of chairs out of seemingly every chair in the venue.

War Horse belly to bellies Nick Gage onto the giant pile of chairs. If you thought a chair riot was a climax to this match you were wrong. The two end up back in the ring while War Horse has s ba black bag holding, what else but three skills and lighter fluid. War Horse, of course, proceeds to light one of the skills on fire. Gage uses the burning skull to his advantage and tombstones the War Horse onto the skull. This is seriously as insane as it sounds.

War Horse ends up getting the advantage by hurting Nick Gage with a chair.  War Horse calls thje ring crew to the ring and everyone listens to the screaming man in makeup. The ring crew starts to untie the rings canvas and ends up exposing the wood. Nick Gage is nowhere to be seen. The canvas comes off and the wooden planks are exposed in the ring. The two trade forearms in the middle of the ring. Gage hits a choke breaker. War Horse tosses a chair, hits him with a lariat and hits a double stomp.

Somewhere in the venue, a child is crying. No one could blame them. This match is scary.

Nick Gage hits a one-winged angel onto the wooden planks. War Horse is able to kick out. The thumbtack chair makes a return. Nick Gage brainbusters War Horse on the chair. The wooden planks buckle under the force of the two men. Nick Gage goes for the pin and gets it.

This match was like nothing I have ever seen. The stripping the ring canvas is so cool and makes a match that much more intense. To watch the two hit exposed wood with the velocity that these two did really add to this already insane match. This is exactly the style Nick Gage loves to perform in. This entire match was two men going all out with each other. It was full of fun spots to really get over that these two men were trying to hurt each other no matter what. Nick Gage obviously thrives at this style.

A style Nick Gage does not thrive at though is grappling. Nick Gage can do quite a bit in the ring. He certainly holds his own but at GCW Bloodsport 2 Gage was taking on a man much more experienced that Gage in MMA, Killer Kross. What Gage did have going for him as he was at his home promotion GCW in Atlantic City where he was seen as a superhero.

To kick-off Bloodsport, every competitor was announced and came out to the ring to stand across from their opponent. Nick Gage won’t wrestle for at least another hour. The fans still cheer him on as hard as they possibly can.

”Nick Fucking Gage” They chant. “Murder Death Kill” they scream. Josh Barnett gives a little speech the fans still chant. Watching the reaction Nick gage gets in any promotion is really something special. Very few wrestlers are as over as Nick Gage seems to be every single time he enters a wrestling ring. He might be one of my most popular wrestlers in all of the independent wrestling.

His opponent Killer Kross seems like the total opposite of Nick Gage. He is calm and collected as he walks to the ring. He acts like he has been here before because he has. When Nick Gage comes out it is like a tornado is hitting the ring. Fans are screaming, Nick Gage is jumping up and down. Streamers fill the ring. Nick Gage is home. Killer Kross acts as if he doesn’t even notice all the hoopla.

The bell rings. Nick Gage comes flying out of the corner with a flying knee strike but Kross catches him. Kross overpowers Gage to the ground. Kross locks in a submission. Gage smacks Kross in the face.

“MDK! MDK! MDK!”

Nick Gage is being overpowered and outwrestled by Killer Kross but the fans are still strong behind him. Killer Kross kicks Gage and Gage mutters to the crowd who laugh. Kross kicks Gage again and Gage screams “Fuck you” at him.

Gage finds his opening and nails Killer Kross with a headbutt. The crowd collectively goes wild for this. Nick Gage tries to get on top of Killer Kross but doesn’t quite know what to do when he is there. This is very different from the normal Nick Gage match where he is breaking light tubes. There are no ropes and it seems like Gage has plenty of experience pro wrestling has little actual technical fighting experience. He tosses some slaps and punches here and there. Gage doesn’t go for the choke but instead hits Killer Kross hard on the back on the head.

Every bit of offense Nick Gage gets in he looks totally shocked he is getting it in. Killer Kross suplexes Nick Gage but Gage gets up quick. Killer Kross kicks Gage hard as he can. Gage tries to get a choke on Killer Kross while the fans scream for him. Killer Kross out wrestles Nick Gage and get Gage in a choke. Gage flips off the ref tosses up gang signs.

Nick Gage is unable to answer the ref’s count. The ref calls the match for Killer Kross. Fans are disgusted and boo the ref and the result. Gage gets up and shoves the ref out of the ring. Fans chant “bulshit”. Killer Kross flips Gage off. Kross asks Gage to shake his hand.

Nick Gage tells the fans he loves them. “Aye yo I love you motherfuckers.”

The entire match is no more than 7 minutes. Nick Gage who is the current GCW Champion for something like 500 days took the defeat in stride. Killer Kross should now get a shot at the championship. These two knew the crowd would be tired after so many matches of this style of wrestling. They also knew the fans would go wild for Nick Fucking Gage. So they planned out a perfect match.

Nick Gage vibed off the crowd but never really stood a shot at beating Killer Kross. Gage knew this and had to come at him with everything he had. From the first knee strike onwards. Every single time Gage got in offense it was strike based and didn’t last very long. He was constantly outwrestled by Killer Kross. It really shows how versatile and smart Nick Gage is as a wrestler.

Two nights in a row Nick Gage had two extremely different and spectacular matches. Gage, along with most deathmatch wrestlers get a lot of slack for the style they work. Nick Gage is not only one of the best deathmatch wrestlers but one of the best wrestlers in the world right now. He proves it every single night.

This weekend Gage will be competing in a tournament for Black Label Pro along with entering in his own deathmatch tournament GCW’s The Nick Gage Invitational on Saturday when he will have the opportunity to compete in as many as five different matches. The next day he will be wrestling for Beyond Wrestling on the beach with his tag-team partner Thomas Santell as Nerder Death Kill against Hermit Crab and Cajun Crawdad. Another match that should certainly be a spectacle and different from his matches from the night before.

Everywhere he goes. Every match he wrestles. Nick Fucking Gage proves he is one of the most interesting and diverse wrestlers in all of wrestling.
