I’m going to keep this as brief as I can; because if I go into it I’ll rant for days and I also feel this can be broken down into more than just one subject.
This is actually something I feel really positive about. There’s so much hate when it comes to people being flown in from abroad. How there treat in comparison to British talent is down to promoters and that’s a subject for another blog.
As far as working with them goes; look it’s this simple. As long as they’re not rotten, I personally don’t care who you are, where you’ve been, where you’re going; at that moment you’re working with the rest of us. Sure I have tons of respect for those who have been to places I wish to one day visit, but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to prefer working you to say Joey Hayes. I see a bill saying me and Joey, nice one. Going to have a good match, get stuck in, nothing silly and get to work on doing what we do best.
If I get an International star I hope for the same, if they’re rotten.. Well my opinion would be, “thanks, I don’t see the appeal really, give me Tony Spitfire, El Ligero, Rampage Brown, Trav, Allmark, Joey Hayes, Kirby, Myers.. Just any of out home grown talented guys instead of this guy just because a few indies in the states think he’s gods gift”.
I have worked some great international talent, I mean true greats that you may have heard of or one day soon will hear of. I’ve also had a fair share of drizzles who get smoke blown up there arse and I know I’m not alone in that experience. In short… We’re all on the same boat, so paddle as well as the rest of us.
