It’s almost time for Wrestlemania, the biggest even not only in professional wrestling but sport & entertainment. Wrestlemania is the most anticipated wrestling event of the year that truly takes centre stage of wherever it is located. This years Wrestlemania is on 2nd April and is once again located in Orlando. Not only WWE but the whole of the wrestling world is invading Orlando for Wrestlemania weekend with an incredible number of 66 events so far announced.

You have the events of WWE that are naturally the biggest draw, with 6 WWE Axxess events, the Hall of Fame, NXT Takeover Orlando, Wrestlemania, Raw & Main Event, Smackdown Live & 205 Live and NXT TV Tapings there is so much on offer for the die hard WWE fan base.

Despite WWE being the showcase of the weekend, their is so much more to Wrestlemania weekend. EVOLVE and their WWN Live partners, WrestleCon and all their partners so many more companies will be holding events this weekend. Ring of Honor will be hosting multiple events during the weekend headlined with their PPV show ROH Supercard of Honor which will showcase two of the hottest wrestlers in the world today that have come from the British Wrestling scene. The first ever English and youngest ever Best of the Super Juniors winner ‘The Aerial Assassin’ Will Ospreay is part of an International Tag Team Showdown as he teams with Volador Jr and will take on Jay White & Dragon Lee, also in action representing the British Wrestling scene is the current ROH World Television Champion ‘The Villain’ Marty Scurll will be defending his championship against ‘Bullet Club’ member and 3 times ROH World Heavyweight Champion Adam Cole in a must see match.


British Wrestling over the past couple of years has been growing and growing and became the hottest wrestling scene on the planet, producing more and more talent such as Ospreay and Scurll whilst building great company after great company. At Wrestlemania you already have UK & Irish talent such as WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville, Sheamus and Becky Lynch all in Championship matches at Wrestlemania. Plus with the likes of Finn Balor, Jack Gallagher, Killian Dain, Nikki Cross, Noam Dar & Paige on the WWE/NXT roster. However due to the success of the British Wrestling scene, WWE haven’t stopped their with their recruitment and quickly got their hands in the magic and created the WWE United Kingdom Championship and created working relationships with companies from the UK & Irish

Wrestling scene such as PROGRESS Wrestling, Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) and Over The Top Wrestling (OTT). WWE held a two day event in Blackpool, England that was aired live on the WWE Network to crown the first ever champion and with the eventual winner Tyler Bate standing out, talent such as Trent Seven, Pete Dunne, Jordan Devlin, Wolfgang and Mark Andrews plus many more showed the world why the UK & Irish Wrestling scene is the best scene in the world. This has led to WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate, along with Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, Mark Andrews and Wolfgang appear on NXT.

WWE recently announced that the for the first time in history, Wrestlemania Axxess matches will feature Superstars from not only NXT, but also WWE 205 Live, the UK Championship Tournament, PROGRESS and Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW). At Axxess on Friday 3/31/17 WWE UK Champion Tyler bate will defend the belt against Mark Haskins, PROGRESS Champion Pete Dunne will face Mark Andrews. It is also announced that at this Axxess PROGRESS and ICW Superstars such as Jimmy Havoc, TK Cooper, Travis Banks, Dahlia Black, Toni Storm and Jinny will compete in a WWE ring for the first time. The matches announced so far for Axxess on the Saturday 4/1/17 (8 a.m. session) include PROGRESS Champion Pete Dunne vs Wolfgang and WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate vs Joseph Conners in a UK Championship Match. So far there isn’t any announcement involving the UK Championship, PROGRESS or ICW Superstars for Axxess on Saturday 4/1/17 (1 p.m. session) however the Axxess session at so far includes ICW Heavyweight Champion Trent Seven vs Noam Dar and finally the Axxess on Sunday 4/2/17, ICW Heavyweight Champion Trent Seven will face Wolfgang, WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate will face PROGRESS Champion Pete Dunne in a UK Championship match and again, Mark Haskins, Jimmy Havoc, TK Cooper, Travis Banks, Dahlia Black, Toni Storm and Jinny will be in action.

Although the WWE will be showcasing the UK wrestling scene at Axxess with Superstars from PROGRESS, ICW and the UK Tournament. PROGRESS Wrestling, Revolution Pro Wrestling & What Culture Pro Wrestling, they’ve all announced that they will all be making their debuts in America and host shows in Orlando during Wrestlemania weekend.


PROGRESS announced that they will be part of the WWN Live shows. PROGRESS first show will be on Friday 3/31/17 at 12pm. The announced line up is the following; Tyler Bate (WWE United Kingdom Champion & Progress Tag Team Champion), Pete Dunne (Progress Champion & WWE UK Tournament), Trent Seven (Progress Tag Team Champion & WWE UK Tournament), Matt Riddle (Progress Atlas Champion), Zack Sabre Jr, Mark Andrews (WWE UK Tournament), Shane Strickland, Mark Haskins, South Pacific Power Trip (Travis Banks, TK Cooper & Dahlia Black), Toni Storm, Jinny, James Drake (WWE UK Tournament), Sami Callihan, Rockstar Spud & Jimmy Havoc. PROGRESS will also be apart of the WWN Supershow: Mercury Rising that will feature four PROGRESS vs EVOLVE showcase matches. EVOLVE vs PROGRESS Match #1 will be for the EVOLVE Title match (If Zack Sabre Jr retains at EVOLVE 80), EVOLVE Champion Zack Sabre Jr vs Mark Haskins. EVOLVE vs PROGRESS #2 will be an EVOLVE Title match (If ACH wins title at EVOLVE 80), ACH vs PROGRESS World Champion Pete Dunne. EVOLVE vs PROGRESS #3, Ethan Page with The Gatekeeprs vs Jimmy Havoc and finally EVOLVE vs PROGRESS #4, Chris Dickinson & Jaka vs South Pacific Power Trip (Travis Banks & TK Cooper).


Rev Pro announced that they will be part of the WrestleCon events with their show being on Friday 3/31/17 at 4pm. Rev Pro have announced their card already which will feature; Zack Sabre Jr (British Heavyweight Champion) vs Pent El Zero M (Formally known as Pentagon Jr), King Ricochet vs Marty Scurll, Rey Fenix vs Will Ospreay (Undisputed British Cruiserweight Champion), Jay White vs Sami Callihan, Shane Strickland & Ryan Smile vs Unbreakable F’N Machines (Cage & Michael Elgin), Martin Stone vs Jeff Cobb and Josh Bodom (Interim British Cruiserweight Champion) vs David Starr for the Interim British Cruiserweight Championship.


WCPW announced they will debuting in Orlando with WCPW: State of Emergency on Saturday 4/1/17 at 11:30 am. The talent announced for WCPW so far are; Drew Galloway (WCPW World Champion), Rampage, Joe Hendry, Martin Kirby, El Ligero, Grado, Primate, Drake, David Starr, King Ricochet and the debuting Bobby Fish & Michael Elgin plus many more yet to be confirmed. Jim Cornette will also be making a special guest appearance at WCPW. Also appearing will be commentator Matt Striker and the personal of What Culture Wrestling. The matches announced so far for State of Emergency are the following; WCPW World Champion Drew Galloway vs Rampage for the WCPW World Championship, El Ligero vs King Ricochet, Martin Kirby vs BT Gunn, David Starr vs Bobby Fish and Primate vs Michael Elgin.

With WWE showcasing PROGRESS, ICW and the UK Championship Tournament Superstars at Axess, PROGRESS debuting in America with WWN Live which Gabe Sapolsky of EVOLVE has tweeted that PROGRESS could set a new ticket sales record for the WWN Live Experience. Rev Pro making their debut as part of WrestleCon and WCPW with their ever growing fan base debuting and Marty Scurll & Will Ospreay competing at ROH Supercard of Honor, it’s clear to say that British Wrestling is at an all time high and although NXT might be named Takeover Orlando. At the end of the Wrestlemania, even more eyes from across the world will be on British Wrestling as we TAKEOVER!
